Distress inks, Sweet Poppy Translucent embossing Paste, 'That Special Touch' mask and Micro Beads.

Hi there,

Just popping in to share a card I've made, using another technique I learnt from the wonderful Eileen Godwin.
It is quite a change for me, as I usually cover my card with colour, and this is very white, lol.

This was fun to make, I used a mask and coloured through it using Distress inks, removed the mask and dried the ink thoroughly.
I put the mask back on, applied the paste, took off the mask again and poured micro beads over it.
I suggest you use some sort of box when using the beads, and not what I did...... I tapped them off onto a piece of paper, lol,
they went everywhere !!!!

Please pop to Eileen's blog, and see what she's been creating, her work is stunning.......Eileen Godwin.

Thank you for dropping in and a big welcome to my new followers,
see you all soon,

Hugs

  8. Your card is so gorgeous Pauline. I just have to try this. Could you tell me the difference between a mask and a stencil. And how were you able to keep the ink where you wanted it to go? I do love simple cards but often times the simple cards are not that easy!! I know those little beads run everywhere!! Such a beautiful card!!!

    1. Thank you Sandy, a mask (to my knowledge anyway, lol) is a flexible piece of plastic, a little like acetate, and a stencil is made from metal so is ridged. I used a mask, which I inked through, with tiny bits of cut & dry, you could also use pens if you wished. Hope this helps you, hugs P xxx

    2. I hope it's ok if I chime in here. There are both metal and plastic stencils. A mask usually cover something up or it is a shape (image) and you put color around the shape/image... a stencil usually is the image within the metal or plastic piece so when you add color or paste or.. whatever.. you create the image/shape. Although with stencils being so popular right now there are some that seem more like masks rather then stencils and the two words (mask, stencil) are quite often interchangable.

    3. I'm glad someone knows what they are talking about, thank you so much Wanda, I started thinking more about stencils/masks after I replied, and I thought I'd got it wrong, lol. Hugs P xxxx
