Lavinia Stamps, Distress inks and Country Companion Mouse stamp

Hello friends,

My craft room of late, has been a little hot house, I don't know about yours. Even with a fan going it was too hot to stay and craft for long
and the fan is no good when you're using embossing powders, as I found out to my detriment, lol.

Anyway, this is a little card and matching ATC, which I made whilst on holiday, for my monthly challenge, the theme this month is 'Animal'.

To my horror, when I looked through my rather large collection of stamps, I couldn't come up with many animal stamps at all.
As we were going away, I thought, it's OK, there's a craft shop in Poole, I'll get something there, so this is the only 'Animal' stamp I could find, not what I really had in mind, but............
(Note to self, buy some more animal stamps !!!!)

He is a rather cute image by Country Companions which I painted with Inktense Pastels, but used a lot of water as they are quite bright.

The card is 6"x 4", the background is made using lots of Lavinia Stamps with Distress inks, please check out Lavina, their stamps are so versatile and can be used on any project.

The ATC of course is measured 2 1/2"x 3 1/2", made in the same way as the card, I also added glossy accents to his nose, boots and the little bug.

Thank you again for popping by,
see you soon,
Hugs

Dreamweaver Peacock feather stencil, Imagination Crafts Sparkle medium and Distress inks.

Hi again,

I've got a bit of making up to do, blog wise, so here's another post.

This was one of the only projects I made on my lovely holiday, as the weather was too good not to enjoy the seaside, lol.

It is an 8"x 8" Birthday card.

For the main image I used a fab Dreamweaver metal stencil.
(which I found in a sort craft shop in Poole, it sold loads of other stuff too, I could have stayed in there for ages, in fact I think I did, lol )
I daubed some gorgeous sparkle medium, made by Imagination Crafts, in two colours, through the stencil with a plastic knife, ( all mod cons eh !!!)

The background was the same stencil, only I dabbed Distress inks through it, again in two colours.
As I hadn't taken any coloured card with me on my holibobs, I again used Distress inks, but built up the colour gradually, around the edges of some white card, which I cut to size before starting, to give the impression of block coloured card. I then layered the feather image and the sentiment on top of it.

A very simple but effective card, I hope you'll agree, the sparkle medium really gives it a punch of bling.

Thanks for visiting, I do appreciate it,
and please leave me a comment if you have the time.
See you soon,

Hugs,
Pauline

Twinchie Challange Blog, July theme is 'Music & Lyrics', my DT samples.

Hi Friends and fellow blogger's,

I am back from my holiday at the beautiful Dorset seaside resort of Swanage. My man and I had a fantastic time, just relaxing and meandering, and watching the world go by, the weather was idyllic, weren't we lucky, so although I took a huge amount of crafting goodies with me, not an awful lot got done.

The only downside to our holiday, well there has to be one, lol, was our Camera charger, we forgot to pack it, so the battery ran out on Day 1, so only 3 photo's to show you, which are down the page, and that is also my excuse for not crafting much !!!!!

The Twinchies.......

These are my DT samples for the Twinchie Challange Blog,
this months theme is 'Music an Lyrics', and a chance to win a Bee Crafty stamp.

Please have a go at making a Twinchie and enter the challenge,
(Twinchie's for those who don't know are 2"x 2", little pieces of art),
and if you pop and have a peek at the blog, you will be able to look at the fab work, that other Crafters have made and have entered.

These are the only holiday photo's we took this year on Sunday 30th June, although we've already booked for next year, so will be able to take lots more then, lol.

This was the view from our balcony, fab eh ???

Hope you are all well, I shall be trying to catch up with everyone's blog soon,

Hugs,
Pauline

Lavinia Stamps Challenge, July, 'Use a punch or a die', my DT samples.

Howdy from tropical Dorset,

The weather today has been wonderful, we did so much walking, but maybe I didn't top up the sun cream enough times, as I am a little lobsterish, lol !!!!

Today a new Challenge starts on the Lavinia Stamps Challenge blog,
It is called 'Use a punch or a die',
so come on, get your Lavinia stamps out, and have fun and enter, of course you could win a fantastic prize of a £40 voucher to spend on more Lavinia goodies.

Check out the great DT samples and the rules on the blog

My first card is a 6"x 6" square, I used a Spellbinders window frame die, put acetate in the windows and in the ornate top, stamped a scene, which I cut out to fit the frame, added 2 fairies, stamped onto acetate and attached so that they are flying, added some stickles, and a sentiment.

The Lavinia stamps I used were,
Tree scene, Bluebells, Creeping vine, and 3 Small dancing fairies.
You can see and purchase these stamps

My second card, is again 6"x 6", (I do love this size),

I used Pan Pastels for the background, a Marianne Bird on a branch die, coloured with distress inks, stamped the birds and Cherry blossom in 'Sepia' ink, again coloured with Distress inks, used a tiny punch for the flowers, stamped a sentiment and finished off with some stickles.

The Lavinia Stamps I used were,
Cherry blossom and Birds and The World of Beauty sentiment.
They can be seen and purchased

I hope they give you a little inspiration,

Thanks for visiting,
See you soon.

Hugs,
Pauline
